What do you do in your role?
I am a Family Start Kaimahi. In my role I facilitate a voluntary, strengths based parenting programme. I visit parents/caregivers and offer support to develop their parenting knowledge, skills, and confidence by providing them with the child brain development and parenting education. I also empower and equip our whanau to overcome the challenges that may make parenting more difficult. This way they can make the best decisions possible to nurture their tamariki. I love being able to tautoko our whanau through this role.
What do you like about your role?
I love walking alongside our whanau to be able to create an environment where our pepi and tamariki can thrive. Watching the confidence grow in our māmā, especially is rewarding.

I have been with Tuwharetoa Health since July 2023.
What made you choose to work in hauora?
I want to help educate our whanau on Hauora so they are able to be the best versions of themselves.
