What do you do in your role?
I am the Breast and Cervical kaitiaki for Tuwharetoa Health, in my role I help wahine to make appointments to either mammograms or for cervical smears if there are barriers such as times, transport, location I assist with making sure it’s within the times they can make it. It is so nice being able to offer other locations for smears to put our wahine at ease and make their experience a good one. If there are any other things our wahine may need such as vaccines perhaps, we may be able to get it all in one so that they only need to make 1 appointment.
What do you like about your role?
Being able to help our wahine to take care of their health, adding encouragement for themselves and their whanau.

What made you choose to work in hauora?
Health has always been something I have always been passionate about. Having worked around health for quite a few years in different locations it’s nice to focus on our wahines wellbeing.
