What do you do in your role?

In this role I undertake home visits to support whanau to become the best parents that they can be.

This involves addressing barriers such as addictions as well as building education and parenting skills.

This is a child centred role where everything that we do is focussed on best outcomes for the child’s health, wellbeing and development.

What do you like about your role?

When we go in to a whanau home we become privy to what’s going on in that whare – whanau are vulnerable and opening up to us – that’s huge. 

I love seeing the growth of the whanau after working with them for a period of time.
