What do you do in your role?
I am the Awhi House coordinator, our hapu mama and parenting hub. Here we support our community through the pregnancy up to the tamariki are 5 years old, we organise events, parenting courses, coffee groups and provide drop in clinics. We also support services within the community, connecting them to whanau and other services.
What do you like about your role?
I enjoy empowering our whanau to live the best lives they can. Everyone encounters different challenges throughout life and sometimes they just need to be guided in the right direction. Seeing whanau tick off goals, whatever size they maybe is rewarding.
How long have you been with Tuwharetoa Health?
I joined the team on November 1st 2021.
What made you choose to work in hauora?
I am grateful for my own lifestyle and supportive whanau, knowing that not everyone has that created a passion within me to do what I can to help others.
