What do you do in your role?
In this role I help to develop whanau plans, and connect whanau with services to help implement their plan.
Whanau typically engage with this service to access whanau ora funding to help implement those whanau plans. Whanau plans can be for minor home repairs, moving on to whanau whenua, and supporting engagement in education activities.
We support anyone living in the rohe of Ngati Tuwharetoa.
What do you like about your role?
I really enjoy learning about whanau connections and getting to know people on a deeper level.
I get a lot of satisfaction from helping support whanau on their journey moving forward.
How long have you been with Tuwharetoa Health?
I started at the end of November 2020.
What made you choose to work in hauora?
I saw an opportunity and applied. I guess hauora/social services chose me.
I was attracted to this industry because I saw the value in supporting our whanau, and just wanted to get in and contribute.
